Hello, I’m Jen. Welcome to my creative space. Here I craft beautiful items to make people happy. My desire is to make something really special to help you create meaningful and memorable moments for you and your loved ones.
Getting to here was not a straight-forward path from A to B. I spent many years working as a research scientist and then as a medical librarian in the NHS. Whilst successful, still there was something missing. I longed for the opportunity to create lovely items that were thoughtful and had meaning for the recipient.
Cakes feature in so many of our celebrations, from baby showers, birthdays, wedding anniversaries to retirement parties. A special occasion deserves a special cake, or preferably cupcakes. I have studied hard, perfecting my sugarcraft skills so that I can make the best personalized cupcakes for your party. Imagine their surprise and pleasure when they receive a box of delicious cupcakes beautifully decorated to reflect them and the occasion.
Photography for me is a hobby and I spent many years learning traditional film processing and printing techniques. When on holiday, I take photographs to record those fleeting moments and make them available as limited edition prints and cards. I adore creating landscape photographs that invoke a sense of place and that will have you wishing you were there.
Although I love black and white photography, colour is my passion hence my obsession with fabric. My first quilts were made as gifts for friends and family members. I enjoyed making each quilt, thinking of the recipient as I selected colours and designs that I knew they would like. I loved seeing their delight when receiving a special handcrafted gift made just for them, knowing that they would have that feeling again each time that they snuggled into their quilt. I want more people to experience this joy.
Serious illness forced me to take stock and I left my job in the NHS to start Cake Card Cloth. Every day is now filled with creative energy doing all the things I enjoy most – making decorated cupcakes, photographic prints and beautiful quilts. I love it and wouldn’t have it any other way.
